A home cooked lunch

March 26th, 2009 at 07:43 pm

So this week I've decided to eat in and not buy food every day, as has become my pretty expensive habit over the past few months. So far for lunch it's been great, but that just means that dinner has been Mc.Donalds, KFC, and Chipotle for the past three nights. I refuse to accept defeat so instead I prepared an army of food today, a batillion of sandwich(es), measured amounts of cereal and almonds, 4 double stuffed oreos (let's be real, the sweet tooth isn't going to go away over night) and my traditional yogurt with a baggie of granola on the side.
My reasoning is that the past few days I've packed enough food for lunch, but was out too late to go home to cook dinner. Today I bring dinner with me.
I have a weekly appointment in Queens on Thursdays which usually results in my eating something from Penn Station on a regular basis. Well not today my friend. Today my army of food will keep me satisfied and satiated until I retreat back home later this evening. Today, in the battle of Ms. Finance M.D. vs. fast food; Ms. Finance wins.

Good for you - welcome. Right now buy what you want to eat and keep it in stock to keep you away from the fast food. It encourages you to say to yourself "I have delicious food at home". Say it often, it will help.

'Nother words, don't worry about the double stuf Oreos yet.

Later on, when you get into the habit of eating and enjoying food at home you can begin to manipulate your tastes are start to stock up on only reasonably nutritious choices.

    Always strategy, just sayin'.
